Winter Isn't Over Yet, it's time for the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge This Weekend

Ahh, the end of the ski season, so sad, isn't it? But the one good thing about watching the winter season come to a close, is the promise of a good time at Killington's Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge. The weather may be unpredictable throughout the winter season and in to spring, but the Mogul Challenge is a sure thing,  coming back the same weekend every year, April 2nd and 3rd. While we hope some of you reading this remember the days of extra curricular activities such as lounging on couches in the snow, enjoying a catered barbecue (and tasty beverage), and mingling with friends and strangers alike, there actually is a mogul event that takes place too! Over the two days some very talented amateur skiers compete for speed and technique. There are several divisions for men, women, and kids. It's great to watch the tricks, the races, and the competition.

You Know Christmas is Coming When...

Yes, its cold out. Yes, Killington is open for the season. Yes, the TV, radio and Internet are bombarding us with gift ideas every moment of the day. But you really and truly know Christmas is coming when you see every other car on the road barreling down the street with a tree securely fastened to the roof. And you indeed find yourself either shoving the tree through your front door or “supervising” the person shoving the tree through your front door.

Ahhhh, but the joy of a fully decorated and over illuminated Christmas tree will definitely get you in the holiday spirit. Which is why the Vermont Holiday Festival is one of our favorite times of the year, and has fast become a Vermont signature event for the whole family. So now that you’ve labored over getting your own tree chopped, strapped, shoved into place and decorated so beautifully, come and enjoy more than 100 individually decorated Christmas trees on display at this year’s Vermont Holiday Festival! This weekend, Dec. 9th-11th.

You’ll find live holiday music performances, horse-drawn sleigh ride complete with jingle bells and beverages to warm the spirit.  Children will love Santa’s Workshop and enjoy a one-hour story telling and toy-making session with Santa’s elves, including a visit from Santa’s himself! New this year, do your holiday shopping at the Jack Frost Marketplace featuring specialty goods from local vendors. See the full schedule here.

So with the new snow Killington received earlier this week, why not throw the family in the car and head up to Killington to get your holiday spirit on! We have lots of packages and specials to help your budget. Plus, mention this blog post and receive 2 adult tickets to the Festival.
