Welcome to the Wise Vacations Blog! This is a new feature debuting to homeowners for the first time, as we head into the 2006-2007 winter season. It will contain periodic postings by me (more on "me" in a moment), the Director of Sales & Marketing at Wise Vacations. These postings will be about anything and everything to do with Vacation Rentals. I will provide tips, insight, industry trends and facts, updates on how your property is being marketed, etc. I will welcome feedback on any aspect of your experience with Wise, and if I can't help you, I will put you in contact with the Wise employee who can best assist you. So I invite you to visit this blog as often or as infrequently as you like! If there is a particular topic you would like me to discuss, by all means, let me know: kara@wisevacations.com.
For those of you who aren't already familiar with the person who is responsible for marketing your precious second home investment, I am Kara. I have been with Wise Vacations for about 6.5 years. And, for the first 5.5 years of my time at Wise, I lived in Killington, however, for the past year or more, I have lived in Connecticut, working from my home, and periodically commuting to VT. Ahh, the power of technology, the internet, and instant messaging. From my office here, seated at my Ikea desk and my ergonomically correct swivel chair, I work diligently on all aspects of marketing for your vacation property. I am just a click, call, or IM away from the office in Killington. Although working from Connecticut fits my personal lifestyle (read: my husband has lived in CT all his life, and I grew up in CT, and we were ready for the "next step" of our long distance relationship), living "down country" allows me to gain a better perspective of who our market is and how best to reach them. (More on THAT later too).
Some additional background/fun facts about me: I hold a bachelor's degree from Colby College, where I played Varsity soccer all four years, and graduated in 1999 (yes, I went to classes too). Currently, I am an avid runner, cyclist, and in general a gym/fitness fanatic. My husband and I have a Brittany Spaniel named Shea, who is our pride and joy.
